Celebrant Wedding Ceremony
I loved it when Rebecca and Jon asked me to photograph their Wedding at Camp Katur in Yorkshire. Ive known Rebecca as a professional model and burlesque artiste for quite a few years and have worked with her on numerous occasions so I was truly honoured and excited when the call came to photograph their wedding, I knew right from the beginning that it would certainly be different.
They had a Celebrant; Samantha Kelsie conduct their ceremony which was far removed from what could be classed as a conventional wedding. It was incredible for so many reasons; not only was it an extremely hot day up in Yorkshire but it was as much about their friends and family as it was about themselves.
With this being my first time working a wedding at Camp Katur I was unsure how it would work as all the guests were camping in a variety of tents and mobile homes scattered around the site but it really is a beautiful wedding venue set in the most glorious of grounds. Every now and again you come across a wedding venue that has something a little bit special about it and this is without a doubt one of those places. The enthusiasm and professionalism of Jan the wedding planner rubbed off on myself and all of the guests. So if you’re looking for something a little off the wall, a little adventurous, somewhat risky but a whole lot of fun, you couldn’t go wrong checking out Camp Katur.
An outdoor ceremony can be challenging for photographers as you always have that unknown factor.. the weather! On this particular day the sun was absolutely cracking the flagstones which was great, but shooting a ceremony in the woods with the contrast of light and shade can be demanding. Taking beautiful portraits in the woods is a joy as you have time and control and once you’ve found the light you can get really creative. However, you have no control over the ceremony itself, this is where it can be challenging at times and I think Rebecca and Jon’s worked out perfectly. Don’t they both look absolutely amazing!! That Dress!!
Below are a few photos from the ceremony and I will be adding the whole wedding to my featured section soon, this is just a taste of things to come. I would love to hear your comments.
What a beautiful set of images these are, so different, just gorgeous. You are very talented.
